Service updates coming June 1

With recent updates to public health guidelines and local advisories, the Meridian Library District will scale up in-building services after Memorial Day weekend.

The Board of Trustees has approved the following updates to library policy. All will go into effect Tuesday, June 1:

  • Our mask requirement will change in alignment with the latest CDC guidance that vaccinated individuals do not need to wear masks indoors. We will move to an honor system and rely on patrons to follow current guidelines and wear a mask inside if they are not yet fully vaccinated. Meridian Library staff members will continue to wear masks in our buildings.

  • We will no longer limit occupancy in our buildings.

  • We will increase time limits in our Cherry Lane and Silverstone computer labs to one hour. There will be no time limit for browsing.

  • We will staff additional service points in our buildings.

  • We will return to normal hours at our Cherry Lane, Silverstone, and unBound locations.

    • Monday-Thursday: 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.

    • Friday: 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

    • Saturday: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

    • Sunday: Cherry Lane and Silverstone 1 to 5 p.m., unBound closed

  • Tiny Library hours will remain the same:

    • Monday-Friday: 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

    • Saturday-Sunday: Closed

In addition, we are now checking in library items without a quarantine period. Like all previous quarantine policies from this past year, this was a decision across all LYNX! Consortium libraries in the Treasure Valley. Quarantine agreements have been a condition of using the LYNX! courier service to transport items among libraries. LYNX! library directors agreed to end quarantine this month, given the latest scientific research showing that surface transmission of the virus that causes COVID-19 is rare.

Our alternate service options, including curbside pickuphome delivery, and virtual browsing, remain available. Our digital collection is available 24/7.
