Capital Projects

In May 2019, Meridian voters passed a plant facility levy measure for $14 million to renovate, expand, and modernize our district.

The levy will support new library branches in north and south Meridian. It will also pay for a major renovation of the main branch on Cherry Lane, which is over 20 years old. The first capital project, renovation of a building in downtown Meridian for the unBound business and tech library, was completed in 2021.

Construction began on the north Meridian Library at Orchard Park branch, the second capital project, in 2021. The 15,000-square-foot library located at Linder Road and Chinden Boulevard was designed with an emphasis on accessibility and adaptability. Orchard Park opened on May 1, 2023.

In early 2023, negotiations began with the developer and land donor for the Meridian Library at Pinnacle branch, formerly referred to as South branch, our third capital project. Our hope is to open this location in 2024 to celebrate the 100 year anniversary of Meridian Library District.

Timelines reflect current estimates and will be adjusted as projects develop. Please check back here for updates!
