Become a VIP! (Very Important Patron)

To get your free library card, stop by any Meridian Library District location and bring:

  • Photo ID (driver's license, school ID, etc.)
  • Proof of residence (current driver's license, utility bill, lease agreement, etc.)

Registration is also available through the catalog. Those registrations are temporary, so please visit a library within 30 days to complete your registration by presenting a photo ID and proof of residence.

Not a Meridian resident? Not a problem!

Those who reside outside the District's boundaries may obtain a non-resident card for a fee. You can learn more about that here.

If you live within the boundaries of the Ada Community, Boise, Caldwell, Eagle, Garden City, Nampa, or Kuna libraries, you can also get your home card and use it at any Meridian Library District location.

FAQs

Patrons under 18 are welcome to sign up for a library card, given that a parent or guardian is present when the child signs up for their card. Parents can monitor their child's check outs by logging into the child's account, adding their own email to their child's account, or by linking the child's card to their own card. See the District's Parent and Caregiver Guide for more information on this works and for tips on responsibly browsing the collection.

Yes! Those who live outside the District's boundaries are eligible for a non-resident card for a fee. Library cards for Boise, Caldwell, Nampa, Ada Community, Eagle, Garden City, and Kuna can also be obtained at any Meridian Library District location.
