Fall is here and as the leaves and weather change, so too do our digital content offerings. Here’s the scoop on what we’ll have available beginning in October.

Hoopla Subscription Ends September 30

This summer we announced that our Hoopla subscription will be discontinued in order to more effectively address our community’s interest in digital content.

  • Items that are checked out at the end of the month will be usable until their return date but no new checkouts will be available as of October 1. 

New! Starting October 3

  • Comics: Access over 50,000 comics and graphic novels for kids and adults through OverDrive.
    • Choose from DC Comics, Marvel Entertainment, Image Comics, IDW, VIZ Media, and many more!
  • Kanopy: Stream ad-free movies, documentaries, classic cinema, independent films and educational videos that inspire, enrich and entertain.
  • Kanopy Kids: Explore enriching, educational and entertaining films and TV series for young viewers.
  • More information about accessing these services will be added to our online resources pages once they are available.

More! Content in OverDrive

This September we have been busy increasing our OverDrive catalog to include more than 21,000 ebooks and 8,500 audiobooks. Don’t forget, we also have magazines - and now comics, too!

  • Find over 300 recently added ebooks and over 400 recently added audiobooks for adults.
  • For kids or teens we’ve added more than 120 audiobooks and 375+ ebooks.

We have received over 100 responses to our OverDrive/Libby survey! And we have adjusted our purchasing models based on your feedback.

  • Respondents would like to see an increase in audiobooks (57%) over ebooks (43%).
  • 63% would prioritize purchasing more variety of materials over reducing wait times on popular items (37%).
  • There is high interest in increasing thrillers/mysteries and nonfiction, and several other categories have been suggested.
  • Many of you have shared specific titles, authors, and genres that interest you and we’ve purchased several of your suggestions.
