Orchard Park Sensory Room
The Orchard Park Sensory Room is specifically designed to calm, relax, engage the senses, support communication and stimulation, improve focus, and provide a safe and quiet space. See the Sensory Room brochure for more information. Sensory Room features include:
- Accessible door
- Wall and floor padding and chairs
- Adjustable lighting
- Illuminated marble panel
- Fiber optic light curtain
- Mirror
- Liquid floor tiles
- Fidget toys
- Weighted stuffed animals, lap pads, and vests
- Cubby holes
- Window into the Program Room
Please note there is no food or drink allowed inside the Sensory Room.
The Sensory Room can be reserved in advance online for 15-30 minutes for a maximum of 6 people. *A limit of 1 reservation daily per family or group applies. Anyone 17 and under or vulnerable people of any age must be accompanied by an adult.
*Community Based Rehabilitation Specialists, Occupational Therapists, and other helping professionals please contact the library to make arrangements for making multiple reservations in a day for the community you are serving if needed.
Sensory kits are available for check-out at the front desk and feature noise-canceling headphones, fidget toys, and tactile objects.
