Readers 2 Leaders

What is Readers 2 Leaders?

Readers 2 Leaders is a library leadership program for school-age kids and teens. In this program, participants will learn about the tenets of librarianship and hear from library administration about why they love their jobs! Each month we will explore and share various literary genres. Come prepared to talk about books and libraries! Participants will then get to assist in a fun book buying excursion!

Readers 2 Leaders FAQ

R2L is focused on school-age kids and teens that are in grades 4th through 12th grade.

We recognize that different ages have different content requirements when it comes to books. We will group participants by grade and/or reading level.

We will be exploring genres such as historical fiction, science fiction and mystery just to name a few. There will not be an assigned book of the month. Rather, each participant can bring in their favorite. The books shared and brought will be at each person's discretion and may not represent the views and opinions of the Meridian Library District or staff facilitating R2L.

Readers 2 Leaders will meet once a month for 1 to 1 1/2 hours. Meetings will run from September 2023 - June 2024. Members will need to reapply each year.
