Orchard Park Project
Anticipated opening: Early 2022
The Meridian Library's Orchard Park location at Linder Road and Chinden Boulevard will bring literary resources and support to residents in a fast-growing and currently underserved area of Meridian.
Every space in the branch is designed with accessibility in mind. You will see this reflected in everything from the height of library furniture to the layout of the bathrooms. We have also placed emphasis on features for individuals with special abilities. This includes a sensory space for all ages that will serve as a destination for families across the Treasure Valley, where free and fully accessible community gathering spaces of this kind are limited. The library’s interactive learning lab will be available for community programs that support literacy and STEAM education. With Rocky Mountain High School just down the road, we know teens in particular will benefit from these after-school learning opportunities.
This location will also feature the convenience of 24-hour holds pickup and a drive-up book return.
The lease for the 15,000-square-foot library space in the Orchard Park commercial development project was approved June 15, 2020, and the interior design (tenant improvements) are underway. Public input on the branch was collected via online survey and forums. Construction is expected to begin in summer 2021, and we're very excited about the many features this library will offer the community.
