Meridian History Center

Visit Meridian History Center

In 2021 care of the Meridian History Collection transferred from the former Meridian Historical Society to the Meridian Library District. The materials are now part of our collection and are located at Meridian City Hall.

The Meridian History Center is open from 10am - 4 p.m. Monday - Friday for self-guided tours. We will continue to assess the archived documents, photographs, and artifacts in the collection.

A local history room is planned for our Cherry Lane location when we renovate our building beginning in 2025.

Join us each month for Digitize Family History! Schedule an appointment with Meridian Library District staff at the Meridian History Center to digitize your old family photos with our large Epson Scanner or professional digitizing camera. 1 hour appointments are available from 1 - 4 p.m. Visit our Calendar to make an appointment to Digitize Family History.

Please contact history@mld.org with your research or donation questions. You may also leave a voicemail message at 208.888.4451 ext. 1023 and we will return your call.

Digitization Projects

Meridian Library District is continually digitizing Meridian historical collections in an effort to preserve, document, and make available the history and culture of the area. Initial digitization work began in 2022 and was made possible by a SHARP Operations Grant through the Idaho Humanities Council. Funding for this grant has been provided by the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) as part of the American Rescue Plan.
