Learn how to use the CNC machine to make small wooden boxes for gifts, game pieces, jewelry, or other keepsakes.
This class will teach the basics for those new to CNC, or serve as a refresher for more experienced CNC users. A hands-on demonstration will walk through the steps to design and then cut out a small box from walnut, maple, oak, cherry, or similar hardwood.
After the demonstration, class participants will:
select one of several small box designs,
be given a CNC-ready digital design file for their chosen box design,
select milling-ready hardwood blanks to use to make their own box, and then
schedule a subsequent four-hour session to cut their own box.
The box created during the class will be raffled to one of the class participants.
