There are two Privacy Pods: A and B.
- Pod A is located in the marketplace near the east entrance (main) doors. Pod A features an ADA-accessible ramp. Please reserve Pod A if a ramp is needed.
- Pod B is located inside the vestibule of the north entrance.
The Privacy Pod may be used for:
- Online meetings (e.g., job interviews, family tele-visits, proctoring appointments, etc.)
- Prescheduled telehealth appointments (e.g., behavioral health care, preventative check-ups, and support for managing chronic conditions)
- Individual study
Check-in
When you arrive for a reservation, please check in at the front desk at least five minutes before a scheduled appointment. Food and drinks other than water are not allowed in the Pod.
Equipment
To log in to a Pod computer, patrons will need their library card number and PIN. Patrons can also use their devices with the library’s Wi-Fi network.
- Laptop computer with mouse and keyboard
- Built-in webcam, microphone, and headset
- Ceiling vent fans, air purifier with UV light, and sound machine (light and white noise therapy)
- High-speed Internet and technology support
Seating
Chair designed for use by one person at a time. If a patron needs another person to assist them in the pod, please see staff about accommodating a second person inside the privacy pod.
Privacy Pod History
The Idaho Commission for Libraries and the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare partnered to provide digitally enhanced spaces in libraries throughout Idaho. The American Rescue Plan Act funds the Pods.
