Mighty Girl Coders (13-18)
Primary tabs
Calling all coders, ages 13+! You helped us build a website - now let’s build a video game! Join us for an 11-week class where you will learn about coding and develop computational thinking skills. No previous coding experience is necessary. Have you ever been playing your favorite video game, and thought "I could make this so much better?" Join the Google CS First Game Design club to experiment with those ideas and make your own cool video games on the computer. Build a racing game, a maze game, a falling objects game, and more. Invite your friends to play with what you create in the CS First Game Design club. Registration required.
Mighty Girl Coders is part of ALA’s ongoing Libraries Ready to Code(link is external) initiative sponsored by Google to promote computer science (CS) and computational thinking among youth. Meridian Library District was one of twenty eight libraries selected to get grant funding for a coding program that helps to attract underrepresented populations to computer science classes.
