All new registrations will be placed on the waitlist, and there are 7 waitlist seats remaining.
Registration is now open for the Mayor's Book Club, Session 1.
Don't miss this chance to meet each month with Mayor de Weerd, local business leaders who share your love of reading good books, and a great group of your peers! There's plenty of time to read before our Thursday, October 5th meeting. Readers, grades 3-5, will collect and keep three hardcover books for their home libraries. Meetings are held at Meridian City Hall on the first Thursday of the month, October - December.
We have an excellent selection of titles for Session 1: October 5 - The Secret Keepers, by Trenton Lee Stewart; November 2 - Full of Beans, by Jennifer Holm; and December 7 - My Side of the Mountain, by Jean Craighead George. When you register, you commit to attending each of the three (3) book discussion meetings.
Books are available to registered participants to collect at the Meridian Library, Cherry Lane, Children's Library Office on Friday, September 8. From the date of registration, you have 10 days to collect your book.* Please be sure to include your email address for reminder emails.
*If, after ten days have passed, you have not collected your book, you forfeit your registration to the next person on the waitlist.
Please note: We're sad to announce that, as the Mayor is now engaged with Meridian's youth in several other fine programs, Session 1 and Session 2 will comprise our final Mayor's Book Club program. We are sorry to see it come to an end, but are grateful for the amazing opportunities we've all enjoyed!
