Don't Judge a Book by Its Cover
The Human Library™ is designed to build a positive framework for conversations that can challenge stereotypes and prejudices through dialogue. The Human Library is a place where real people are on loan to readers; a place where difficult questions are expected, appreciated, and answered.
This year's Human Library is taking place during Mental Health Awareness month, on Saturday, May 19th, 1-5 pm at Storey Park in Meridian. This event will be in conjunction with the Indigo Idaho Art Fest.
We are seeking people who have experienced a stigma, stereotype or prejudice to be books. This event takes place in the hopes of increasing awareness of diversity and developing a better understanding of one another. "Books" will have the opportunity to converse with "readers" in 20-30 minutes sessions. Your volunteering will consist of (1) two-hour training session with coaches in April as well as the 4-hour event on Saturday, May 19th at Storey Park in Meridian.
