Code of Conduct Addendum
The safety of our patrons and staff is our number one priority. The Library is taking many precautions to help prevent exposure to or infection from COVID19, but cannot guarantee that the Library is virus-free. Anyone not following established safe polices and protocols may be asked to leave the facility. To protect Library patrons and staff from the spread of highly contagious variants of the coronavirus, the Library is temporarily requiring all patrons, volunteers, and staff to wear masks when in a Library facility.
Face Covering/Face Mask Requirement
All persons entering the Library must wear a face covering and maintain social distancing (a minimum six-foot distance from all other persons) when practicable. Masks must be worn properly covering the nose and mouth while inside any library facility.
Children under the age of two are exempt from wearing a face covering, but must be closely monitored at all times by their parent or guardian.
A disposable face mask will be provided free of charge to individuals who do not have a face mask.
Reasonable accommodations such as Home Delivery, Curbside Pickup, and online resources are available to those who are medically prevented from or decline to wear a face covering.
Those refusing to wear a face covering are required to leave the Library and may not be provided assistance from a Library employee. If a person refuses to leave the Library for not following this policy, Police may be contacted and could result in a ban from the Library for a specified period of time.
Patrons that exhibit adversarial behavior that is argumentative with staff or other patrons, will be subject to the general Code of Conduct behavior policy. They will be asked to leave until they comply with the policy in place to protect other community members and staff.
This policy will be in place until further notice. The ongoing public health situation is monitored regularly and all safety protocols are continuously reviewed.
