Yesterday saw the start of Connect2Compete's EveryoneOn Campaign, a nation-wide public service campaign to promote the importance of digital literacy skills. From the website, you can find classes in your area, get tips on applying for jobs online, and find wifi access! Join the Meridian Library as we seek to get Everyone Online. Don't forget--we have free wifi at all three locations as well as computer access at the Meridian Library @ Cherry Lane and the Meridian Library @ Silverstone!

Did you know that March 3rd-9th is "Read an Ebook Week"? Here at the Meridian Library District, we offer several options for you to get your hands on free ebooks. If you haven't ever checked out an ebook before, we're more than happy to help out, and we even offer some classes to get you started. Our next ereader help class is offered March 8th at 10 a.m. at the Meridian Library @ Cherry Ln.
Teen Tech Week is fast approaching and we have lots of fun things in store for Meridian Library District. Students in grades 6-12 can signup starting today for a special TTW event March 11-13 held at our Cherry Lane location. This will be a 3 day event that will build from one day to the next so it's important to attend each day. Spots are limited so be sure to signup with Nick in the Teen Department or at the Children's Information Desk. Contact Nick for additional information.
The Meridian Library Board of Trustees has extended an offer to Gretchen Caserotti to serve as our new library director! Gretchen is coming to us from the Darien, Connecticut, public library, where she serves as Assistant Director for Public Services. She will begin her duties as our new director no later than April 1st, 2013. All of us at the Cherry Lane library, Silverstone branch, and Bookmobile are thrilled to have such an energetic and capable director. We are certain that we have a great future in store! Welcome, Gretchen!
Starting February 1st, the Bookmobile will be making slight changes to its schedule on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. The Albertson's stop Monday afternoons is cancelled, and the Storey Park and Alpine Meadows stops will swap their time slots. See you on the bus!
